The concept of sending rainbows began when two friends who were once neighbors, now living in separate states, started sending each other happy mail. One sent the other some prisms and they were a hit! Rainbows all over the house not only brighten their day, but also their family’s day. Seeing how happy the rainbows made everyone, we wanted to send the crystals to family and friends everywhere, but quickly realized the shipping was more expensive than the crystals themselves. We brainstormed on ways to easily send rainbows in greeting cards and came up with our flat and lightweight rainbow window clings. We wanted as many people as possible to be able to experience our rainbows, so we decided to reach out and see if any children’s charities would be interested in receiving donations of our  rainbow window clings. We received an overwhelming response from various charities, and even from parents of chronically ill children. We quickly realized that we could not afford to provide all of these rainbows on our own, so we began to talk about establishing a non-profit organization. As former teachers, supporting children is a passion for us, and this is the most effective way for us to be able to provide window art to as many children as possible. This idea has been welcomed by a number of various children’s organizations, parents, and others who also support our mission.
