WE, The World has a strong foundation in advocating for social justice and sustainable development. However, the organization faces a considerable challenge in effectively addressing the feminization of mass poverty, particularly in regions where women and children suffer disproportionately from economic instability, lack of education, and inadequate access to resources. The current impact of these issues is profound, resulting in ongoing cycles of poverty, malnutrition among children, femicide/GBV,  weak governance, ineffective policy and social protection systems and limited opportunities for women's leadership in critical areas such as peace and security.
Project Synopsis: Activities/Actions Required
  1. The project will involve various key activities, including qualitative and quantitative research methods to assess community needs, stakeholder engagement through interviews and focus groups, and the development of educational materials for STEM training.
  2. Students will analyze existing policies on gender equality and child welfare, identifying gaps and opportunities for reform and legal and policy framework for addressing femicide and women's leadership roles in peace and security (WPS).
  3. Throughout the project, students will also participate in workshops and training sessions to hone their advocacy skills, culminating in the creation of a comprehensive report detailing findings and recommendations for the partner of WE, The World.
Project Synopsis: Expected Results
  • expected outcomes of this project include a well-researched educational framework for STEM that can be implemented in target communities, policy recommendations that promote women's leadership and address GBV, and advocacy materials that raise awareness about child malnutrition and its impacts. SMART goals include increasing the participation of women in STEM programs by 30% within the project duration, developing at least three policy recommendations for local governments, and conducting three workshops that engage over 100 community members in discussions about gender equality and child welfare, elimination of femicide/GBV and women's equal leadership roles in peace and security (WPS).
