| Project Synopsis: Challenge/Opportunity | As an organization, our priorities are set on defending and expanding the protections and rights of undocumented people at the state/local, and federal level. One of these opportunities is the expansion of policies within municipalities throughout the country that have proactively permitted non-citizens to vote in local elections.
| Project Synopsis: Activities/Actions Required | We are looking to engage with graduate students that can help us conduct a study of local governments and municipalities throughout the country that have proactively permitted noncitizens to vote in local elections. With the goal of creating a guidebook with case studies, best practices, and an implementation guide for how our affiliates and our partners can achieve this opportunity in their own municipalities.
| Project Synopsis: Expected Results | The goal of this project is to collect case studies of municipalities that have expanded the right to vote to non-citizens, make an analysis of successful tactics, and create a guide for UWD affiliates organizing at the state and local levels. A successful project will result in a guide that is accessible to undocumented organizers throughout the country who are interested in expanding access to democracy for their communities.
